Jim is a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), and applies a risk‑focused, continuity‑driven perspective to every cybersecurity and IT solution his company provides. His background spans systems engineering, security architecture, networking, and infrastructure operations, allowing him to bridge the gap between technical controls and real business outcomes.

The Meaning Behind “Colden”

Colden Company is named after Mount Colden, one of the High Peaks in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.

Founder Jim Lapointe, an avid hiker and member of the Adirondack 46er Club, chose the name as a reflection of the values that guide the company: preparation, resilience, discipline, and respect for complex environments.
